This lesson will teach the student:

  1. To understand and know the difference between center line and base line referencing. This helps to figure sizes of molds.
  2. To be able to understand the standard, cumulative and reference tolerances. These can cause many problems if not correctly dealt with.
  3. Many tolerance symbols are used today such as flatness, position, etc. They are used to save time and space.
  4. To have some idea about the metric measurements. Today prints can be found in either format.
