Molding Part Geometry » Why is Molding Part Geometry Important?

1 of 11

The geometry of a part is a big factor in the design of a mold. It effects almost everything, along with part ejection. The mold design can be simple if the part can be freely ejected. However, horizontal hole shapes and undercuts will require special designs to free the molded part before ejection. Some of these designs require systems that lift, pull cores, or use slides.
