Accelerated knock-outs have the same purpose as accelerated ejectors. They give pins an extra push to help the part clear its core. They may also be used to assist part orientation during ejection.
Simplicity of design is an advantage of accelerated knock-outs.
The accelerated knock-out as shown is applied to a single pin. The accelerated pin gives a push to one side of the part during ejection. This will help the part to clear its core. It may also be used to assist part orientation during ejection. Each cavity of a multiple cavity mold can have an accelerated knock-out as long as space allows. The accelerated knock-out can be inserted into the ejector plate (as shown) or top mounted, depending on space available for the ejection movement.
