Common Problems & Solutions

The best solution to a polishing problem is to not create a problem in the first place. A good mold polisher will always follow the proper techniques and procedures as outlined in this lesson. Some problems such as EDM burns can not be avoided, but if handled properly they become easier to remedy. Estimating surface condition is the hardest problem to overcome. It is very difficult to estimate the depth of a cutter mark. Only with experience can reasonable guesses be made.
