Designing the proper cooling system for a specific mold involves many parameters. The mold designer must consider:

  • Type of resin and its melt temperature.
  • Type of coolant to use.
  • Location of coolant channels.
  • Size, number, and length of channels.
  • Location of channels from the mold surface and each other.
  • Capacity of heat exchanger to be used.
  • Customer cooling standards and requirements.
