Many of the errors which occur in print reading are typical, and have been identified as follows:
- Print out of scale
- Lack of “notes” on section views
- Excessive information
- Critical dimensions not identified
- Dimension incorrectly
- Not understanding view relationships
- Incorrect “cut” line or section view
- Incomplete Bill of Material
- No understanding of geometric symbols
- Not identifying the “offset” corner
