Errors in Interpretation Summary

Many of the errors which occur in print reading are typical, and have been identified as follows:

  • Print out of scale
  • Lack of “notes” on section views
  • Excessive information
  • Critical dimensions not identified
  • Dimension incorrectly
  • Not understanding view relationships
  • Incorrect “cut” line or section view
  • Incomplete Bill of Material
  • No understanding of geometric symbols
  • Not identifying the “offset” corner
