Most times the full view is shown. For a clearer description of the plate or part, the cutting plane lines are used to indicate a highlighted view section. Cutting plane lines are displayed as heavy solid black or dash lines, with labeling such as W-W or X-X. This highlighted section is then shown in another view, and is labeled (for example) as section W-W or X-X.
