Heat travels from a higher temperature body to a lower temperature body. The temperature difference and not the amount of heat determines the flow. The greater the difference between the two bodies in temperature the greater the flow rate between them. This type of heat transfer conduction takes place from hot resin contact to steel and then to water channels. The cooling efficiency of a mold is determined by the type of coolant used, coolant pressure, flow rate and coolant temperature. The mold materials used also have different heat conductivity.
