How is Silicon Used Within The Manufacturing Of Steel Alloys?

Silicon

Silicon is a non-metallic element occurring extensively in the earth’s crust. Silicon forms the basis for glass, semi-conducting devices, bricks and concrete, and silicones.

Effects of Silicon in steel alloys
Silicon is used primarily as a deoxidizer with other elements in steel. Silicon will also increase tensile strength, toughness and hardness.
