Welding is a fusion process joining two pieces of metal by means of heat. This can be accomplished by a variety of different welding processes such as the gas, arc, and resistance methods. Welding is a relatively fast method for manufacturing something and produces a very strong bond or connection. Welding can be used to correct machining errors when too much metal is removed. Shown here is a typical arc welding process joining two pieces of steel using a stick electrode.
