Description:
Support pillars are similar to large diameter dowels. Their function is to resist the forces generated during injection by reinforcing the support plate.
Location:
Support pillars are located in the ejector housing; they are fastened to the rear clamping plate and the support plate. Support pillar clearance holes are cut though the ejector bar and the ejector retaining plate. They are typically located towards the center of the mold where the most support is required.
