Testing Equipment for Brinell Hardness Scale

Testing Equipment for Brinell Hardness Scale

The Brinell tester is a machine that forces a 10mm hardened steel ball into a test specimen by using a known weight load and then measures the width of the resulting indentation. The width of the indentation is measured with an eye piece which has millimeter graduations. The Brinell hardness value can be calculated by dividing load by the area of impression or by referring to a chart.
